Team,
we had a succesful first team ride on Sunday. We got an idea how we are going to place riders and leaders. We worked on riding across town safely in groups, being curteous to people in cars and other trail users, and watching out for each other by signaling turns on the road and waiting at intersections on the trails to keep the group together. Nice job, riders and leaders.
I would like to remind everyone that we start after school rides at 3:15PM from the public library on Dec. 2nd (tues.) and Dec 4th (thurs.) and the weekend ride will be Sunday, Dec. 7th. The rides will continue on tues./thurs./ Sunday from then on.
The team needs a carpool coordinator to make arrangements with drivers to get the riders to the Sunday riding spots. Contact me if interesed in contributing to the team in this way.
I would also like to remind everyone that riders need to dress in layers for these upcomimng winter rides. Cotton is not good to wear.
Polyester is best, and arm and leg warmers are easy to put on and remove as needed. A wind vest can prove invaluable, and a packable windbreaker occasionally will be needed for a top layer, and one should always be brought along.
I'll be around this week if any questions come up. I'll be away thanksgiving week. See you in December.
Thanks
