Race at Fort Ord
The first race of the 2009 Norcal Mountain bike season took place at Fort Ord in Monterey. We were there in force with a number of people meeting the previous night to carbo-load with pasta.
The teams of San Marin and Novato were represented in the JV-Girls, Varsity Girls, Freshmen girls. For the boys we had a solid presence in the Freshmen group and a couple of riders in the JV group. Laurie and Susan kept us fed with burritos that were so good that I think they should be voted as food providers for the rest of the season. Thanks also to everybody else for all the side dishes, it will take a couple of trips to Mt. Tam to work that off.There are some pictures of the races at photos.mtbzones.com
A number of people commented about our team's fantastic preparation that made this ride really easy for everybody. Thanks to Adam, Mark, Mike, Rob, Greg, Craig, Mauritz, Sue and Sonja for all the ride leading.
